Gregory Sakkas was born in Athens where he completed his studies at The first Lyceum of Athens. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University Athens. During the years of studies he worked as a senior assistant in the second Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology Aretaieion University Hospital. There, he published his first scientific work (World Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Moscow). He completed the military service and specialization in General Surgery in KAT Hospital of Athens (Director, Ath. Trambaklos). He then got specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the University Of Athens “Alexandra Maternity Hospital” (Director of Prof. D. Kaskarelis). He gets specialized in Infertility and Fertility of the same Hospital (Prof. Prof. Miliogos). There, he begins to do his PhD. At the end of his specialization he is specialized in the Edinburgh University Hospital (Simpson Center for Reproductive Health of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh) on microsurgical tubal issues. He has published many papers and participated in important congresses.

Membership / Collaborations

Gregory Sakkas has been collaborating with the University Gynecology Clinic of the Hospital Charite Campus Wirchow in Berlin (Klinik fur Gynekologie and Klinik fur Geburtsmedizine Berlin). Member of the German Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Gynakologie und Gebursthilfe-DGGG). Member of the American Society of Reproduction.  Also, Member of the greek Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Member of the Greek Society of Ultrasound and Greek Society of Gynecological Oncology. He performs endoscopic surgery at the “REA” Maternity Hospital (Laparoscopies and Hysteroscopies) as well as application of “Laser” particularly in cases of HPV squamous cell disease. Pioneer and the implementation of vaccines to prevent the transmission of HPV, especially with public appearances (TV, Radio, Press, etc.). He has a private practice in Athens for more than 20 years and works with the “REA” Maternity Hospital.

He speaks fluently German, English and French.

Finally, he has two sons. Evangelos, Gynecologist specialized in IVF with many international scientific communications and presentations. The second one,  Constantine Miltiadis, Ph.D. of the National Technical University of Athens in the field of safety of tunnels with continuous presence in all international conferences of his specialty, as a speaker or as a writer of scientific work.
