Gynecological examination

At least once a year, each woman must undergo a preventive gynecological examination. It is very important for a woman’s health and fertility.

Small problems that can be diagnosed are definitely in the early stages and they arefully reversible. In our clinic we perform a complete gynecological examination including:

During the control, the doctor takes a complete history which highlights the situations that could cause a problems. The doctor should check the medical history in detail

The examination begins with a gynecological examination, in which the gynecologist examines the vulva. After that, the doctor inserts the speculum in the vagina and the cervix in order to examine them.
He/ She observes if there are any lesions, infections, abnormal secretions, anatomical anomalies. If there are abnormal secretions indicating infection, then he/she recommends to do a vaginal and cervical swab to detect and treat infection.

He/she does the PAP test from the entrance of the uterine cervix. Then, the doctor sends it to the laboratory.

In the case of a abnormal pap test, the gynecologist does a colposcopy showing the damaged areas. He/ she also does the necessary biopsies.

The examination continues with ultrasound imaging of the internal genital organs. We measure the volume of the uterus, which varies from woman to woman. We observe its composition for the detection of any pathologies (fibroids, polyps, etc.) and its anatomy for any abnormalities.

Then we check the endometrium (thickness, etc.).

The imaging of the fallopian tubes is only possible in pathological conditions (hydrosalpinge).

Then, the doctors display the ovaries, they measure their volume, and they collect the follicles at the fertile age.

Finally, they check them for any pathologies such as cysts, solid masses, mixed cysts, etc.
